چکیده مقاله
This quasi-experimental study examined the impact of controlled writing on the writing performance of Iranian EFL learners in blended and flipped learning environments. A non-random sample of 120 intermediate-level learners was assigned to four groups: a blended learning group, and a flipped learning group, and two traditional control groups. All groups received instruction in controlled writing techniques, delivered through their respective modalities. The study employed a pre-test and post-test design to assess writing proficiency, with data analyzed using SPSS to determine group differences. Findings revealed that both blended and flipped learning environments significantly enhanced writing proficiency compared to traditional instruction. However, the blended learning group outperformed the flipped learning group, suggesting that face-to-face interaction, combined with online learning, fosters more effective writing proficiency. These results highlight the potential of controlled writing within blended learning frameworks to improve writing skills among EFL learners, emphasizing the need for innovative instructional designs in language education.
