چکیده مقاله
In recent years, the innovative use of technology has facilitated the rise of flipped classrooms as a transformative instructional approach in higher education, particularly within language learning contexts. This study explores the experiences of undergraduate English Language Teaching students in flipped reading classrooms at Semnan Farhagian University. Employing a qualitative case study design and purposive sampling method, semi- structured interviews were conducted with ten students to gain insights into their perspectives on the dynamics of flipped reading classrooms, engagement with reading materials, and overall learning experiences. The findings indicate that pre-class resources, such as videos and articles, play a crucial role in enhancing students’ confidence and preparedness for in-class discussions. Additionally, interactive elements like online quizzes serve as effective motivators, reinforcing engagement with reading assignments. The structured learning environment of the flipped classroom was found to facilitate student focus and comprehension. However, challenges related to time management emerged as a significant barrier, with students sharing various strategies to stay on track with assigned readings. Furthermore, while independent study was largely beneficial, some students expressed a need for greater peer interaction and collaboration during the preparatory phase. The study offers several implications for English language instructors, learners, policymakers, and materials designers.
