چکیده مقاله
Abstract
The present study investigated the 55 Iranian pre-intermediated learners’ attitudes towards flipped
learning. In this vein, participants were randomly divided into three main groups. Two
experimental groups and a control group. The first experimental group received flipped instruction,
in which they received YouTube videos, PowerPoint slides, and an online quiz 3 or 4 day before
the class, practiced them individually at home, and in the classroom students required topractice
them individually and in pair. The participants of the second experimental group received
instruction on vocabulary skills through videos and PowerPoint presentations in the class with no
in-class interaction. In addition, at the end of each lesson, the participants answered the quizzes.
And participants of the control group learned the target vocabulary items traditionally. Actually,
the teacher taught those vocabularies explicitly by writing them on the board and presenting
definitions and examples. Also, like the experimental groups, they answered the quizzes at the end
of teaching. According to the results of a reflective journal, questionnaire, and interview which
was administered in the first and last sessions of treatment, participants had positive attitudes and
perspectives toward flipped classrooms.
